Funeral Mass for Carrie Borgognoni Belvedresi will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 2 pm for family and relatives at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Due to Cov1d, there will not be visitation before Mass. Carrie was born October 12, 1921 in Greenville, MS and passed away on August 15, 2021 (2 months shy of her 100th birthday) with her daughter holding her hand while praying the rosary. Carrie is survived by her sons Eddie Belvedresi (Marsha) of Madison, MS and Harry Belvedresi of Boyle, MS, and her daughter Carol Belvedresi of Lyon, MS, her grandchildren Heather Belvedresi Elman (Billy) of Madison, MS, Nick Belvedresi (Lindsay) of Oxford, MS, Sarah Belvedresi of Oxford, MS, and Caroline Belvedresi of Cleveland, MS, her great-grandchildren Andrew Belvedresi of Clarksdale, MS, Max Belvedresi of Cleveland, MS, Harden Belvedresi of Cleveland, MS, and Dunn Belvedresi of Oxford, MS. She is also survived by countless extended family members. Carrie is preceded in death by her husband Floyd P. Belvedresi, her parents Joe Borgognoni and Albina Marchetti Borgognoni, her sisters Delinda Borgognoni Belardi, Rosa Borgognoni, Elizabeth Borgognoni Battistoni, Mary Borgognoni Belvedresi, her brothers Louis Borgognoni, Charlie Borgognoni, Pete Borgognoni, her grandson Andy Belvedresi, her daughter-in-law Cathy Hays Belvedresi and her niece Janet Borgognoni Farish. Carrie was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devout Catholic and prayed the Rosary every single day even well into her I 6 years of battling Alzheimer's. She worked as a cashier at Liberty's Supermarket in Clarksdale, MS for over 28 years. She loved her bosses and her customers so much which is why she enjoyed going to work every day. She always had a smile on her face. Before Alzheimer's, she loved to cook and was "famous" for her homemade ravioli and gravy! She enjoyed working in her yard which she referred to as her relaxation time. For many years, she and her cousins and their spouses would get together for coffee, cake, stories, and laughs each week at one another's homes. The family would like to say a Huge THANK YOU to all of her caregivers who were so patient with her through the many stages and years of her Alzheimer's and who loved her like family and spoiled her rotten with so much care and attention! We are eternally grateful to each of you! We are so thankful to her Hospice nurses, Monie Brown and Crystal Gann, for their caring attention to mom and the family in her final transition.
