She was a native of Kings Mountain, NC; born on September 25, 1942 to parents, Rev. Howard H. and Irene Mitcham Haynes, now deceased.
She was very active in her local Nazarene church serving as past treasurer, SS teacher to toddlers, Choir Member,Board Member and in other capacities; and on the SC District Church of the Nazarene, serving on Camp Boards for several years. She and her family participated heavily in the Campground programs through the years. She was elected to be a delegate for the International Church of the Nazarene General Assemblies and Conventions. Bus Trips with the church seniors were a huge joy for her, some of the happiest times of her life.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Marvin E. Tanner, Graniteville, SC; daughters: Tambrey "Tammy" (Herb) Modesitt, LaVergne, TN, and Teresa "Tessa" Montgomery, N. Augusta, SC; brothers: Bill (Joetta) Haynes,Summerville, SC; David (Trish) Haynes, Hartsville, SC; and Jimmy (Brenda) Haynes, Greer, SC; sisters: Pat Raisor, Erwin, TN, and Naomi (Dave) Smith, Darlington, SC; grandchildren: Clark (Taylor) Modesitt, Katelyn Ready, and Courtney (Dustin) Swygert and great-grandchildren: Raylynn Ready, Anderson Ready, Callen Modesitt and Noa Kate Modesitt.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, Graniteville, SC, with Pastor David Gallimore officiating. Pallbearers will be Clark Modesitt, Herb Modesitt, Jackie Taylor, Kenny Tanner, Wes Tanner and Jason Haynes. Members of Care Givers Sunday School Class & Prime Timers will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Her final resting place will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
