Born in Anstead, October 22, 1909, she was the daughter of the late John and Maude Parrish Pannell. Lena formerly worked in food service at The Virginian Hotel and Arvis Restaurant and was also a former employee of Majestic Laundry and Princeton Dry Cleaners. She was a member of the Rogers Street Community Church.
In addition to her parents her first husband, Carl Nelson; second husband, Clifton Dillon; one son, Robert "Bobby " Nelson; two sisters, Lucille Tickle and Edith Tyree; and two brothers, Kenneth Pannell and Robert Pannell preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Gillespie; and one son, Charles Nelson and his wife Jewell, all of Princeton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Eva Tickle of Coalwood and Wanda Pannell of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. today, November 23, 2007, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Gene Pennington officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
