Johnny B Manry enlisted in the 51st Georgia Infantry Co E, Pachitla Guards, in Calhoun, Georgia on March 22, 1862 along with his two brothers, James Henry Manry and Benjamin F. Manry.

John and Benjamin were both killed at Fox's Gap, Battle of South Mountain. James went on to fight at Antietam and Chancellorsville, was wounded but refused to be left behind.
He was captured at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863 and taken to Pt Lookout prison.

They were just simple farm boys.

Burial is unknown, but many bodies were disinterred from the battle grounds of South Mountain, Antietam and Farmer Wise's Well and reburied at this cemetery …I'd like to hope that he too has found a final resting place here with his brother Ben.
