Mrs. Simonsen was born in Den-mark February 4, 1851, a daughter of Ole and Charlotte Jessen. came to Utah in 1870 and was married the same year in the L. D. S. Endowment . house in Salt Lake to Jens Simonsen and they came to Moroni to make their home. Mr. Simonsen died in 1882.
During her 62 years' residence at Moroni Mrs. Simonsen was an active L. D. S. church worker.
Besides rearing her own family of six children, two of her grand-children, Lina C. Olson and Truman Curtis, lived with her from their early childhood until their marriage.
She is survived by two sons and four daughters: Ole Christian Si-monsen and Mrs. Sena Curtis, Moroni; Mrs. Lottie Brothersen. Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Nettie Bradley, Preston, Nevada; Mrs. Margaret Pratt, Magna, and Jens Simonsen, Long Beach, California; 17 grand-children and seven great-grand-children.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday in the West ward chapel, with interment in Moroni City cemetery.
