Margaret was born in Bartow County, Georgia on June 1, 1936, son of the late John Walter Lanham and the late Thelma Everett Lanham. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Crump, Nell Cornett; daughter-in-law, Kathy Cantrell; granddaughter, Renee Shaw; brother-in-laws, Johnny Williams, Jack Crump, Richard Cornett, Carl Cantrell; sisters-in-law, Martha Dowdy, Dorothy Costlow. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family and she will be missed by all.
Margaret was married to the love of her life for 68 years. She loved working in her yard, and loved flowers and would put together arrangements often. She wrote poems and even had one published about the blizzard of 1993. But most of all she loved her family, especially her children; they never doubted her love. At her last breath she wanted to know about her children. She was known to prepare lunch for her family on a daily basis and was known to many for her "famous banana pudding." Margaret was a member of Skyline Baptist Church, and we know that she is resting at the feet of the Father. She worked at Integrated Products in Rome for 20 years and after retirement she worked with her daughter, Lisa, at her tanning bed in Armuchee. She loved serving others, and that she did with her whole heart. She will be forever missed, but yet her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. Where her famous last words were"Watch The Clouds".
Survivors include her husband, William Russell Cantrell; her children, Elaine West (Ken Taylor), Wayne Cantrell, Lisa Bruce (Terry), Anita Gresham (Jay); brother, Lynn Lanham (Janice); grandchildren, Danny Tucker, Nichole Anderson, Rocky Shaw Jr., Shane Cantrell, Kevin Cantrell, Eric Waddell; 14 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
