Born January 3, 1927 at Basin, she was the daughter of the late Overton Whitt and Martha Monk Whitt.
Mrs. Shrewsbury was a homemaker and a very active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton. She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a wonderful wife and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arvil Whitt; and one sister, Bernice McKinney.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Wintfrey "Wimpy" Shrewsbury of Princeton; one daughter, Sheila Croy of Huntington; two grandsons, Stephen Croy and his wife Ashley and Jonathan Croy, all of Princeton; three great-grandchildren, Laken Saddler, Zac Croy and Madison Sullivan, all of Princeton; three brothers, Evert Whitt and his wife Gretzel of Atlanta, Ga., and Mason Whitt and his wife Yvonne and Berman Whitt and his wife Melda, all of Beckley; one sister, Arleen Hearn of Roanoke, Va.; one sister-in-law, Rema Blankenship and her husband Charles of Matoaka.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Revs. Dan Jividen and Ralph Calfee officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton.
Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
