Catherine "Cathy" Toney Delgado, age 62, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Cathy was born July 11, 1959.
Cathy was born in Richmond, VA, but within the first year moved to central Florida where she grew up and raised her family. After graduating from a small, private, high school in Tampa (Tyron) in 1976 she attended HCC. She started her career at Lakeland Regional Health where she worked for nearly 40 years. In addition to being a proud mother of 2 daughters, she was so excited to welcome her first grandchild, Jody Gleason, in May. Cathy may have only had 2 biological daughters, but she took care of many because they also needed a "Mommy". Another joy for her was cooking for her family and friends every chance she got. Joined in death with daughter Theresa Catherine Toney Lanham, grandson Jody Dex Gleason, and future son in law, Justice Warren Gleason Survived by daughter Christine "Chrissy" Lanham (Jennie Schmelzer), former husband Paul Lanham, brother Bob Toney (Arlene Hein), sisters Mary "Terri" Carter (Wayne), Sheri Douthit (Ray), 2 half-brothers Harry Lee Toney (Tina) and Marshall Toney (Patsy), 1 aunt and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Catherine Toney and Harry P Toney, 2 half sisters Dale Mason and Bonnie Goolsby
A gathering of family & friends for Cathy will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Wells Memorial and Event Center, 1903 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, FL 33563, followed by a celebration of life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
