She was born to Charles and Anna (Bouma) DeBoer on Feb. 17, 1916, at the family home of rural Manhattan. She attended Armstrong school.
In the years before she was married, she cooked for a road construction crew in a cook car. The road crew constructed roads with horses and fresnos. As a young woman, she worked in private homes and at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
She married Henry DeHaan on Nov. 18, 1939, in Brinsmade, N.D. The next 68 years were spent living her life for the Lord at the family ranch on Norris Road.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking and took pride in her home. Of her numerous decorative hand crafts, she was still enjoying beading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ted; and 3-year-old sister, Margaret.
