Glenn Hilding, age 93, of Stanton, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids from complications of a heart attack he had last week.

Glenn was a lifelong cash crop and dairy farmer. After high school, Glenn proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard. He loved sports of all kinds; he was a very gifted athlete in his younger years and is a member of the Vestaburg Athletic Hall of Fame for his baseball accomplishments. For many years, Glenn was a fixture on the sidelines of Vestaburg football games as a member of the "chain gang". Glenn was one of his grandkids biggest supporters always cheering them on at all their events. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed bowling and shuffleboard. For 42 years he wintered in Florida where he had many countless friends. Glenn also loved to visit and chat with his friends and family and his conversations will be deeply missed.

Surviving Glenn are his children, Dana (Bob) Outman of Greenville, Linda (Dale) Walter of Edmore, Janice (Greg) Jourdan of Edmore, Vic Hilding of Edmore; grandchildren, Rhonda Clevenger, Becky (Tony) Caterino, Robin (Erik) Alberts, Rachel (Ben) Richwine, Michele (Tom) Winks, Ryan Walter, Katrina (Brian) Corwin, Shana Throop, Julie (Dave) Wheelock, Kelsey Jourdan, Trent (Diana) Hilding, Lindy Hilding, Troy Hilding; 27 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; nephew, Dewey Hilding of White Cloud and a community of friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; parents, Axel & Wilma (Herzog) Hilding; sister, Doris Hilding; brother, Carl Hilding, and sister-in-law, Janet Hilding.

Visitation for Glenn is being held on Monday, September 27th from 10 to 11 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.). Funeral services will begin at 11 AM. Glenn will be laid to rest next to his wife in Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore.
