Del Eigsti, 80 of Greeley, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit.

He was born on January 13, 1927 in Princeton, Illinois to Ira and Esther (Hartzler) Eigsti.

Del married Betty Gord on August 30, 1953 in Kewanee, Illinois. She preceded him in death in 1995.

Mr. Eigsti had lived in Greeley since 2005. Prior to living in Greeley he lived in Colorado Springs for 50 years where he worked as a mechanic for several garages including Brookside Garage and Stevenson Toyota. He later owned and operated an Exxon Station in Colorado Springs.

He attended the Circle Drive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. He later attended the Village Seven Presbyterian Church and the Springs First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed landscape photography and hiking in the mountains.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Arnie Strayer of Greeley; a son and his wife, Paul Eigsti and Debbie Redman of Round Rock, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Joy Rohn and her husband Brandon of Evans, Amy Strayer of Ft. Collins and Karen Strayer of Greeley; 2 sisters, Dorthy Guisinger of Eldorado, Kansas and Florence Zehr of Manson, Iowa and a brother, Elmer Eigsti of Largo, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty in death in 1995, parents, Ira and Esther Eigsti and a sister, Mabel Eigsti.

A memorial service to celebrate Del's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Borgmann Chapel at Bonell Good Samaritan Center, 708 22nd Street in Greeley. Cremation.
