A lifelong resident of Portage County, Mrs. Szalewski was the former Rose Golomskl. She was born in the Town of Sharon on August 15, 1883, and attended Sacred Heart Parochial School at Polonia. Her marriage to Mr. Szalewski took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Nov. 24, 1902. and the couple settled on the present family farm in Alban.
Rose was the mother of 14 children. Her survivors include her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Ruppert (Pearl) Lorbicki, Wittenberg, Mrs. Lawrence (Esther) Graykowski and Mrs. Wesley (Margaret) Graykowski, Manitowoc, Mrs. Leo (Angeline)Yenter, Alban, and Mrs. Woodruff (Frances) Firkus, Eureka; nine sons, Edward, Jerome and Frank, at home, Peter and Leonard, Manitowoc, Paul, Town of New Hope, Harry. Wausau and Ernest and Ben, Milwaukee; 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Golomski, Wausau, and Valentine Golomski, Alban.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Rose Szalewski was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Alban. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Adalbert's Church, and burial will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.
