He died at the home of a son, Paul, in the town of New Hope, where he had been staying for the last year because of ill health.
Mr. Szalewski was born in Alban March 6, 1879, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Szalewski. On Nov. 24, 1902, he was married to the former Rose Golomski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. The couple then settled on the present family farm in Alban. Mr. Szalewski's wife died last Jan. 5.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Rupert (Pearl) Lorbicki, Wittenberg, Mrs. Lawrence (Esther) Graykowski and Mrs. Wesley (Margaret) Graykowski, Manitowoc, Mrs. Leo (Angeline) Yenter, Town of Alban, and Mrs. Woodruff (Frances) Firkus, Eureka; nine sons, Edward, Jerome and Frank, on the family homestead, Peter, and Leonard. Manitowoc, Paul, New Hope, Harry, Wausau, and Ernest and Ben, Milwaukee; 30 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
The funeral will be held at 9 a. m. Wednesday at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Alban. Mr. Szalewski and his wife will be buried in the parish cemetery in the spring.
