William "Bill" Shaughnessy was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Beloved son of the late Walter D. and Frances D. (nee: Wallan) Shaughnessy; loving husband of 40 years to Maria Renee (nee: Krzan) Shaughnessy; dear father of Nicole Harris (Nicholas), Kristy Shaughnessy; cherished grandpa of Julianna Harris, Lyla Harris; dear brother in law of Joe Krzan, Jr. (Chris), Bill was an uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Bill spent most of his career with IBM Corporation, and after moving from his home state of New York to Missouri, he became a well known employee of Bommarito Automative group. Bill was an avid car enthusiast, participating in different car clubs and shows throughout the area, showing off his 1973 Barracuda. He also enjoyed going on trips, especially to the beach, having a nice bowl of ice cream, delighting in anything chocolate, an ice cold beer, and don't forget the bread. But most importantly, he found his most joyful moments spending time with the ones that he loved the most, his family. He was a man that could walk into a room full of strangers and know everyone's name within just a few minutes. He never knew a stranger and he always greeted you with a smile, a hug, and a laugh. Bill always enjoyed having a good time and was the life of the party. He will always be remembered by his kind soul and the happiness and love that filled your heart being around him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Hutchens Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Charles. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10 am at Assumption Catholic Church, 403 North Main St., O'Fallon. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis.
