PIPER, Leah Verda (Dyer) – of Flint, MI, age 92, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Calvert Park Community Church of God, 2341 North Genesee Road, Burton, MI 48509; Rev. Arlyn Willett and Pastor Alex Young co-officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Calvert Park Community Church of God. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis, MI Church of God Campgrounds, in Leah's memory.

Leah was born in Mt. Morris, MI on December 24, 1928, daughter of the late Edward Cleveland and Myrtle Grace (Bush) Dyer. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School Class of 1948. Leah married Dalton I. Piper on October 13, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1977. She retired from General Motors after 16 years of service. Leah loved her church family and was an active member of Calvert Park Community Church of God. She was an athlete playing softball for over 20 years, bowled on numerous leagues for over 50 years and she was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Leah loved playing table games and doing puzzles.

Leah is survived by 4 children, Myra Piper, Beth Ann (Michael) Morin, Mary Ellen (Mark) Krontz and Barbara (Matthew) Hargett; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Piper; several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Cleveland and Myrtle Grace Dyer; husband, Dalton I. Piper; son, Richard (Mary Elizabeth) Piper; several brothers and sisters.
