Mrs. Blanche Thoroman Of Versailles Dies Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. Blanche Thoroman, 82, a resident of the Versailles community her lifetime, died at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, May 12, in Passavant hospital in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Thoroman was born in Pike County April 21, 1886, the daughter of John E. and Frances Martin Taylor. She was a member of the Versailles Methodist church; Ladies Home Bureau, Versailles Community Club, Malta Shrine, Royal Neighbors of America and a Sister of the Order of the Eastern Star for nearly 60 years.

On April 9, 1914, in Augusta, she was united in marriage with Allen A. Thoroman, Senior, who survives. She also leaves a son, Allen A. Thoroman, Junior of Versailles; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her parents; two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Versailles Christian church, Rev. Tom Ross, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Versailles cemetery.

Friends may call at Rounds Funeral Chapel until noon Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church and "lie in state" from 12:30 until two o'clock.
