Henry Crockett Hill, 95, of Falls Mills, Va. died Monday December 22, 1990 in a Rocky Mount, Va. nursing home.
Born January 10, 1895 at Falls Mills, he was the son of the late Wiley G. and Biah Perdue Hill. He was a retired employee of Pocahontas Fuel Company with the Boissevain Mine. He was an Army veteran of WWI and a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church at Mudfork. He attended Piedmont Business College, was a member of Harmon Lodge No 222 A.F.& A.M. ; VFW Memorial Post No. 9696 of Bluefield, Va.; American Legion Post No. 14 of Pocahontas, Va.; and Bluefield Old Guard. He was preceded by four brothers: Thomas, Silas, Felix and Edward Hill and two sisters.
Survivors: wife Shirley Estep Hill; daughters: Peggy H. Turner of Bassett, Va. and Shirley H. Hill of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Kathy Hill of Charlotte, N.C., Jack Turner of Richmond, Va. and Robert Hill of Fort Collins, Co., a great granddaughter.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Dudley memorial Chapel at Bluefield, Va. with the Rev. Larry Murphy officiating and burial at Grandview Memory Gardens at Bluefield, Va. Graveside rites will be conducted by Harmon Lodge No. 222 A.F. & A.M. and American Legion Post No. of Pocahontas.
Friends may call today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
