TUPELO – Robert "Red" Boxx, 65, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo. He was a retired army veteran and retired from Big "O" Plumbing. He loved to hunt, fish and read. He was a member of Gulett Hollow Hunting Club for 35 yrs. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and just having a good time.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Tom Lolar officating. Kesler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include wife, Regina Boxx of Tupelo; two daughters, Shonna Boxx-Robbins of Tupelo and Sam Boxx of Byhalia; two sons, Tommy Boxx (Rosario) of Madison and J.R. Boxx of Tupelo; one brother, Terry Boxx of Baldwyn; five sisters, Wilma Looney of Byhalia, Linda Nichols (Bobby),
Brenda Barnes(Earnest), Benita Scott (Mike), all of Baldwyn and Cindy Bullock (Lyle) of Booneville;
his mother-in-law, Betty Donahue of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Alex, Michael and Savannah Boxx and Katie and Daniel Robbins; and special friends, Ronnie Davis, Jay Ramsey and Jerry Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Lee and Lillian Boxx; one sister, Margaret Boxx; two brothers, Larry and Gene Boxx.
Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers are the Gullett Hollow Hunting Club.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James Catholic Church or a charity of ones choice.
