Retired Farmer,
Dies Saturday
Carl F. Blanchard, 73, of the
Groton Road died Saturday at the
Cortland Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1897 in the
Town of Cortlandville, son of the
late Frank and Lettie Sears
Blanchard.
Mr. Blanchard a retired farmer,
was a member of the United
Presbyterian Church of Cortland
and Cortlandville Grange.
He is survived by his widow,
Mrs. Ethel Rote Blanchard; one
sister, Mrs. George Matthias of
Greenport, L.I.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at
2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wright-
Beard Funeral Home with the
Rev. Richard A. DeMott,
minister of the United
Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Cortland
Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9.
Contributions may be made to
the Heart Fund.
