Marvin Funk, 83, Ottawa, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at his home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Agape Christian Center, Ottawa.

He was born Feb. 16, 1924, at Wolf Point, Mont., to Addt and Anna (Enns) Funk.

He grew up in Hillsboro. He moved to Ottawa in 1971.

He graduated from the Hillsboro High School in 1942. He attended college.

He enjoyed woodworking; upholstering furniture and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro, and the Hillsboro Lions Club.

He worked as manger of the Co-op in Hillsboro, Kansas for 25 years. He later owned and operated F&G Supply. He owned and operated DeLaval Dairy Supply, Ottawa, and later Funk Sales and Service, Ottawa.

He married Esther Ruth Richert on Sept. 6, 1948. They shared more than 59 years of marriage. She survives.

Survivors also include sons, Bruce Funk, and his wife, Shirley, Richmond, Texas, Troy Funk, Gardner, and Farren Knapp, Ottawa; daughters, Patricia Zamora, and her husband, Carlos, Ottawa, Bonnie Bulmer, and husband, Rick, Ottawa, Robin Johnson, and her husband, Allen, Lawrence, and Ginger Pacheco, and her fiancée, Dave Kruger, Lawrence; brothers, Lavern Funk, and his wife, Joyce, Hillsboro, Arlie Funk, Newton, and Loyal Funk, and his wife, Nancy, California; sisters, Alice Funk, Omaha, Neb., Grace Weber, and her husband, Orville, Wichita, and Viola Schultz, and her husband, Johnny, Buhler; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Roxanne M. Funk-Pence in 2005.

Burial be at the Clinton Cemetery near Clinton after the services.
