Born in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late L.D. Shelley and Elnita Edwards Shelley.
Mr. Shelley worked for BL Montague in Charleston and Sumter, he also worked for Sumter Metals Intersystem of Sumter, Georgetown Steele Plant, and the original Cooper River Bridge. He was a family man who loved fishing and boating. His greatest joy was being with his children, wife, and grandchildren. Mr. Shelley was best known by his family for his determination, hard work, stubbornness but most of all his gentle and loving soul.
