Edwin ‘Tippy' Rice, 70, of Belle, formerly of Princeton, died Thursday morning, November 11, 1982 in a Charleston hospital from complications due to open heart surgery.
Born in Princeton on February 9, 1913, he was the son of the late Andrew David and Cora Lee Hill Rice. He was preceded by a son, Ronald Kenneth Rice and one brother, Edwin Rice of Princeton.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Powell Rice; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Janet) Morris of Charleston and Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Hart of Springville, Va.; and one brother Frank Rice of Seaford, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Belle Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow in Montgomery Cemetery in Montgomery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Fiddler and Frame Funeral Home in Belle.
