Mrs. Anna M. Armstead, wife of Lorenzo Armstead, prominent Beckley undertaker, who is well known here, died Monday morning, January 3, 1938, in the Beckley Hospital, where she had been rushed for an operation.

Mrs. Armstead was well known throughout the state in social circles. Her many friends here are grieved by her sudden death.

Along with her husband, she leaves two daughters, Inez Theresa and Mary Elizabeth Armstead; three sons, Lorenzo Jr., Lowell and Roland Armstead, all of Beckley; her parents, James Marshall and Mary Ella (Key) Stovall of Pocahontas, Virginia; plus two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services in Ebenezer Church in Beckley on Wednesday afternoon, January 5.
