Children: Levi;Lydia; Henry; Barbara; Mary Ann; Sarah A.; Saloma; and Malinda

(2)December 21,1854, Shelby County,Ohio, Elizabeth (Blakeley) Cottrell, buried Pearl Cemetery, Shelby, Ohio.

Children: George; Nancy Arena; and Margaret (FAG #125737995).


SHELBY COUNTY DEMOCRAT FRIDAY MARCH 4, 1881...
Swanders Item: Mr. Samuel Shaffer, who resided in our little village for about three years and since 1837 was a resident of Franklin Township, this county, died Sunday morning about 10 o'clock.

He had been sick two years and confined to his bed six months. His funeral took place Tuesday and was attended by a large congregation of people. Quite a number of his friends and relatives from Lima were in attendance .

Mr. Shaffer was one of our esteemed men and a good citizen of this township, a member of the Lutheran Church for over 40 years. Thus another old settler has passed away...
