Born Wallace Wayland Weld on December 4, 1939, he was the second child of the late Wayland M. Weld and Luvycie Bowen Weld of Greenfield.
After attending Greenfield High School, Wally served in the U.S. Air Force and obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska.
Wally was an avid fan of the Amarillo Bulls and enjoyed stamp collecting and family history. He was known throughout his life for his inimitable style of communicating with others.
Wally is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheila Ann; two brothers, Roger Bowen Weld of Reno, Nevada, and Alan Weld of Madison, Wisconsin; and two sisters, Suzanne DeForge of The Villages, Florida, and Louella Weld, of Atlanta, Georgia.
Wally was predeceased by his brother, Marvin Weld.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery. No services are planned at this time.
