Libbie (Allen) Bogen
87 years. Beloved and devoted mother and friend, died at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Richard and Penny Lewis on Saturday, December 16th. Born in Malden, she was a graduate of Brookline High School. Libbie began a career in real estate at Baker Roiter Realty in Brookline, and was a self employed Realtor in Chestnut Hill until shortly before her death. A former member of Temple Shalom in Newton, and a life member of Hadassah, she was a founding member of Spring Valley Country Club in Sharon. She is survived by her two daughters Barbara Eckstein of Dedham, and Penny Lewis and her husband Dr. Richard B. Lewis of Cummaquid. She was predeceased in 1999 by her only son, Michael H. Bogen. She also leaves three devoted granddaughters, Nichole Gage and her husband L.J. of Needham, Rachel Cochran and her husband Paul of Norfolk, and Dr. Rebekah Allyn Lewis of Redondo Beach, California. The joys of her life were her three great grandchildren Eric and Evan Gage, and Emily Madelyn Cochran. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at the Cape Cod Synagogue, 135 Winer St., Hyannis at 11:00 a.m. followed by a burial in Woodside Cemetery, Yarmouth Port. Shiva will be observed at the home of Dr. Richard and Penny Lewis on Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 7 P.M. Donations may be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.
