Obituary:The Record Herald, June 28, 2005 Anna Mae (Cornett) Philpott Wetzel Anderson, 77, of Frederick died Saturday, June 25, 2005, in the home of her daughter in Frederick. Born May 14, 1928, in Harlan County, Ky., she was the daughter of Robert and Dollie (Johnson) Cornett. She was the widow of Steven Jefferson Philpott, Walter L. Wetzel and Richard Douglas Anderson Sr. Mrs. Anderson worked for Jim's Laundry, Frederick, for a number of years.She also worked for Homewood Retirement Center, Frederick, for more than 23 years. She was a member of AMVETS Post 2 Auxiliary and Francis Scott Key American Legion Post 11 Auxiliary, both of Frederick. She was a homemaker for a number of years and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and playing bingo and pinochle. Mrs. Anderson is survived by 10 children, Johnny Ray Cornett of Sidney,Ohio, Janet Langenstein of Hagerstown, David Philpott of West Virginia, Carol Marshall of Waco, Ky., Robert Philpott and Brenda Burkett, both ofGreencastle, and Joyce Sams, with whom Mrs. Anderson lived, Linda Everett, William Philpott and Danny Surber, all of Frederick; 34 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-granchildren. She also is survived by seven siblings, Merlin Cornett of Greencastle, Pa., Tony Cornett of Jackson City, Ohio, Earl Cornett and Thomas Cornett, both of Sidney, Oh., and Curtis Cornett, Strunk, Ky., tow sisters, Molly Leydig, Strunk, Ky., and Betty Smith, Whitley City, Ky., numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marie Sier, Mary Weedon, Maxine Pierce, Shirley Moberly and Shirley Bell. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kyle Victor Cornett; twin brother and sister, Millard "Buddy"Cornett and Mildred (Cornett) Stephens; one grandson, Johnny Wantz; and two sons-in-law, John Sams and Joe Langenstein Jr. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick. Burial will be in Linganore Cemetery, Unionville, Md.
