The section is flown to the Danish Aquarium in Copenhagen, Denmark, where it is preserved in a cold room for scientific study. But due to careless mishandling, the room is left open and the section begins to thaw, only for scientists to find that it is starting to regenerate. The science-fiction feature was filmed at Saga Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark, and cost a whopping $100,000 to make. It was released to the general public on February 20, 1961.
