Chico Enterprise, Monday Evening, November 1, 1909, pg 1 col 5: John Hedger Was Buried Today. John Hedger who died last Saturday afternoon at the residence of his nephew, A.J. Downing, on First avenue in Chico Vecino, was buried this afternoon from the undertaking parlors of Mrs. M.E. Engel. Rev. Clark of the Broadway Methodist church officiated and the members of the local post of the G.A.R. were present.
At the time of his death the deceased lacked but one day of being 75 years of age. He was born in Ohio and for the past two years had resided a portion of the time in this city. The cause of death was Bright's disease.
