Burial information via CCA records note that interment at "age 68" took place on Dec 7, 1909, and widow Lura Jane Swift was granted benefits as well as minor benefits to her as guardian of underaged child dated September 21, 1916 and Feb 3, 1910 respectively.

Chico Record, Tuesday Morning, December 7, 1909, pg 5 col 4: Death Summons Veteran A. Swift. Armsted Swift, a native of Missouri aged sixty-six years, died yesterday morning at the family residence in the Ninth division, after a short illness from pneumonia. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Fetters & William mortuary chapel on Second street, Rev. A.B. Murphy will officiate.
The deceased was a veteran of the Civil war. He served with credit during several engagements and after the war came to California. He lived for years on a farm on the Oroville road and was well known in this city. He was a member of Halleck Post, G.A.R. His wife and three sons survive him. The sons are, William Swift, A.M. Swift and Charles Swift. Two brothers also survive the respected pioneer and warrior. One resides in Idaho and the other in Napa.
