Obituary - Francis Monroe Hawkins, son of the late Jerusha Rogers and Samuel Hawkins, who spent most of his life in Sayville, died on Sunday morning at the Brunswick Hospital in Amityville, following a short Illness and an operation which he underwent on Thursday of last week. Mr. Hawkins, who was 81 years old lived In Sayville until about 12 years ago when he went to make his home in Sea ford with his only daughter, Mrs. George L. Weeks, Jr. For many years Mr. Hawkins and his family lived near the foot of Candace Avenue. Besides his daughter he is survived by one grandson, a brother, Thomas R. Hawkins, of Cherry Avenue, West Sayville, and a sister, Mrs. Oscar Ketcham, of Islip. He was a member of the Foresters of America and Local Union 413. Funeral services were held from the home of his daughter in Seaford on Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the family plot in the Union Cemetery.
