Rachel was one of two known children of Rev. Elisha (1674-1730) & Mary (d.1742) Thomas. Her father was the 2nd minister of the Welsh Tract Church, Radnor twp. in Chester County, PA.

The birth date of 1709 is an estimate. Whether she was born in Wales before her family arrived in the colonies in 1701 is not known. Rachel's sibling was Sarah Thomas who m. Daniel James.

Rachel married Rees Jones, Sr. Nothing is known about his family.

The couple had seven known children:

1. Jonathan
2. John
3. Mary, 1724-1782, m. Judge John Evans Jr. 9 ch/4 known
4. Susannah, 1737-1737
5. Sarah, 1737-1737
6. Margaret
7. Rees Jr, b. abt 1732 - d1757

Per "Genealogy of Evans, Nivin and Allied Families" p 23 after Rachel's husband Rees Jones died she married Rev. David Davis, (1708-1769). He was the 5th minister at the Welsh Tract Church.

At this time nothing further is known.
