Rev. David Davis came to America in 1710 when he was 2 years old.

David first married a Mary unknown, they had 6 children:

1. Jonathan
2. Rev John
3. Susanna
4. Mary (Parr)
5. Rees
6. Margaret (Booth)

Church records show that Mary was buried on 24 Jul 1743. This may have been in this church cemetery or the London Tract church (a sister church formed from members of this church). Cemetery censuses done of this cemetery in 1904, 2000 and 2009 did not find a 1743 marker for Mary Davis or any other Mary Davis. Her marker was not found in a 2009 census of the London Tract cemetery.

David next married Rachel Thomas. (Her previous husband was Rees Jones, Sr., d. 1739, 7 ch.)

The Rev David Davis, was ordained at Welsh Tract in 1734 at which time he became Pastor, serving the church as Pastor for 35 years. He was the church's 5th pastor.

The Rev'd's marker was inscribed:

In memory of the Revd. David Davis, minister of the gospel of Christ at the Welsh Tract and faithful preacher of the gospel for near 40 years, who departed this life August 19, 1769, aged 62 years. (Note this marker was listed in the 1904 cemetery census but not found in 2009.)

The Welsh surname Davis is a common one with many member in this church. Some were related and others were not.

Note, church records show another David Davis as a minister of this church. On 2 Feb 1772-3 he signed for the care of church book I.
