"The funeral of David Anderson was largely attended. The American Legion Post of Canfield and members from here had charge of the military part of the funeral. The deceased was the last Civil War veteran residing in this township. He was born, reared and died on the same farm which was purchased by his grandfather, Mr. Weaver, in 1834. This place until 1870 was called Weaver's Corners. In that year the post office was established here although the name of this village in Pennelton and so recorded on the county records."

Comment: It appears that Rebecca was first married to David Anderson. By the 1860 census she was married to Jonathan Weaver, son of John and Charity Weaver. David Anderson was living in this household and was listed as 14y of age.
