We regret to have to record the death of James, the infant son of T.I. Courtright. The child has been sick for a long time with an abscess on the brain. The attending physicians had very little hope of its recovery. Mr. Courtright is not in town, but has been telegraphed for and will be back in time for the funeral today. The parents and family have the heartfelt sympathies of the Democrat, and we can safely say the hundreds of friends that Jim Courtright has in Fort Worth.

James was the third born child of Thomas (Jim) Courtright and Sarah Elizabeth Weeks. His mother, Sarah, was also known in Fort Worth as Elizabeth or Betty. He was only two years old when he died, according to cemetery records. His birth year and place of birth were determined by the 1880 census and the fact that his father was the city marshal at the time.
Re-interred from Pioneer Rest Cemetery.
