Mildred Abercrombie died November 30, 2021.

On July 18, 1931, Mildred was born to Charles and Kathryn Sheasley in Bell Township, Pennsylvania.

She enjoyed school and had many adventures with her best friend Begonia (Norma Jean). Their friendship was to last for over 80 years.

In 1950, she married Alex Abercrombie whom she had met when his family bought a nearby farm. Together the two of them bought their own farm in Allegheny County and started on an adventure that lasted almost 51 years until his death.

Mildred embraced life and never turned down a challenge. She worked in the garden, took care of the farm animals, and once even raised 8 piglets in the basement when their mother died. She was an amazing cook and liked to sew and crochet. She was a helpmate to neighbors and family alike. She got her first computer when she was in her 60's and moved on to her iPad which she used every day. She loved a good mystery novel and really liked detective TV shows. She was known to watch a few Hallmark movies but found them a bit boring. She did her daily crossword puzzle and spent hours constructing jigsaw puzzles. She was a wonderful Mother and an adventurous Grandmother. She enjoyed travel and visited Disney World, New England, and Las Vegas. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She leaves her daughter Kathy Abretske (Greg Markey), Grandson Daniel Abretske (Amanda Chenery), sister JoAnne (John) Mainc, brother-in-law Al Thomas, and numerous nieces and nephews including Albert Thomas, Julie Dippolito, Thomas Mainc, Tawney Pitts, and Brandy Bisi.

She was preceded in death by Alex, her parents, and four sisters.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
