Frank's father immigrated to the US in 1896, and became a coal miner in Hocking Valley in Athens County, Ohio. Hence, Frank was born in the of city of Buchtel located in Hocking Valley that was the center of Ohio's coal mining industry in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Frank and his brother John married sisters, Julia A. and Mary.
Frank married Julia Fasecas on April 24, 1924 in Clifford, Lapeer County, Michigan.
They had two children: Edward, and a baby boy that died two hours after he was born, whom they did not name.
In the 1940s, Frank and Julia became proprietors of a candy store they opened in the Old Delray area of Detroit when its community was primarily Hungarian.
Frank and Julia are buried alongside each other in unmarked graves.
