Joseph G. Brisch, age 97, a resident of Venice, FL, and formerly of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at The Windsor of Venice Assisted Living Facility in Venice, FL.

Joseph was born on February 1, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Michael and Mary (Coenen) Brisch. He graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in Wisconsin and attended Xavier University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and served his country overseas during World War II in the Pacific Theatre until his honorable discharge in 1946. On February 8, 1947, Joseph married Jacqueline Lord in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2011. For 42 years, Joseph had worked at Rockwell Lime Company from where he retired as President in 1994. While in the Manitowoc area, he was a founding member of Branch River Country Club and a member of several local organizations including Serra Club of Manitowoc County, Manitowoc Yacht Club, Manitowoc Elks Club, and the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He was a strong supporter of catholic education and worked with other members of the catholic community to build the first catholic high school in the city of Manitowoc, Roncalli High School. In 1993, Joseph and Jacqueline moved to Venice, FL where they both were members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Plantation Golf and Country Club, and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Survivors include Joseph's five children, Jacqueline (Jeff) McCullough, Donald (Mary Kay) Brisch, Stephanie (Glenn) Graff, Deborah (Steve) Cramer, and David (Peggy) Brisch; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two daughters-in-law, Sue Brisch and Elizabeth Brisch; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jacqueline; two sons, Joseph H. Brisch and Richard M. Brisch; and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain and Rev. Gerald Foley. Committal service will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum with military rites to be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post 659. A luncheon for relatives and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
