Obituary for Alfred "Choppa" Ho'e Alameda

Alfred "Choppa" Ho'e Alameda, of Waimanalo, Hawaii passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Castle Medical Center with his family by his side. He was 63 years old. He was the 10th of 11 children born to George Alameda and Edna Ho'e in Hilo, Hawaii on October 27, 1952. He was a heavy equipment operator with Royal Contracting Company for over 30 years.

He attended and graduated from Kailua High School. Soon after graduation he began his lifelong career in the construction industry. He retired in 2015 after serving 30 plus years with Royal Contracting Company as a heavy equipment operator.

He was a lifelong resident in Waimanalo. He married the love of his life, Yolanda on June 10, 1989 at their home. He was a member of Ekalesia, The Foundation of Jesus Christ and served as an usher in the church.

He was a member with the Waimanalo Canoe Club and the Kaiona boat ramp brotherhood.

Alfred enjoyed paddling, swimming, walking up to the Makapu'u Lighthouse, watching his grandkids play sports and his most favorite was going to church and serving for the Lord.

He is survived by sons, Sheldon "Suki" Alameda and Isaiah Alameda; daughter, Brandy "Ululani" Alameda; brothers, George "Bully" Alameda, Henry Alameda, Sammy Alameda and Gordon "Duke" Alameda; sisters, Edna Azevedo, Alice Harbottle and Leo Garcia; eight grandchildren, Kapena, Aukai, Makaio, Sarah, Alohi, Sophie, Mahana and Keola and one great-grandchild, Keahi.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda; brother, William "Billy" Alameda; sisters, Lena Teixeira and Joe Alameda.

Services for Alfred will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation is from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., service to begin at 11:00 a.m. with Kahu George Naipo presiding over services.

Choppa was a mighty man of God and when he was at church he would say "May the congregation please rise"

He will be truly missed and loved forever by family and friends.
