Carol H. Odam, 71, of Kansas City, MO passed away December 9, 2021 surrounded by her family. Carol was born June 27, 1950, the daughter of David T. and Joan (Newman) Harrison in Prairie Village, KS. She married Randy Odam, her Shawnee Mission East High School sweetheart, and celebrated 50 years of marriage. She had four children; Chris, Laura Hyland (Kevin), Ginny McMillin (Aaron), and Ben, as well as two grandchildren; Kate and George Hyland. Carol devoted her life to the betterment of others. She served as a teacher, Christian educator, preschool director, and the church program director at Shawnee Presbyterian Church. She brought joy to all who knew her. Carol was a proud member of PEO and ADPi. She loved literature and houseplants. She was a beloved Mimi. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, siblings Paul (Kathleen) and Nancy Longhurst (David) and her children and grandchildren. The family will have a private interment at Ridgely Cemetery. Carol was a cancer survivor, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
