Ida, daughter of Manuel Francis (Frank) and Susan Sholar Harris, was born in the Eagle Mill community. Her grandfather, David Sholar, contributed the land for the Sholar Cemetery. Ida married Willie Savage on May 11, 1913.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Savage, 78, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, in the Joaquin Methodist church.
Burial followed in the Ramah cemetery.
Mrs. Savage died Monday in Port Neches.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. V. J. Parker of Port Arthur, Mrs. D. V. Kirkland of Port Neches, and Mrs. J. R. Smith of Dallas; two sons, L. O. Savage of Joaquin and R. C. Savage of Port Neches; a sister, Mrs. Katie Gilbert of Houston; a brother, W. T. Harris of Houston; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
