Born in Omaha, Georgia, to the late William Henry Bishop and Lola Madge Gordon Bishop, Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Tift College and as an educator she had taught in Randolph County, Quitman County, and Bibb County School Systems. Formerly of Byron, Mrs. Williams had been living at Magnolia Manor in Americus for several years and was a longtime member of Byron Baptist Church.
