Paul Bovaird, 63, died November 5, 2021 at Piedmont Northside Hospital. Paul was born in Ft. Polk, LA but called Columbus home from the age of 3. As a child he loved athletics and excelled at sports. His passion for fitness continued into his adult years until his health no longer allowed for it.

Paul's career in Finance allowed him to cross paths with many new friends. He remained dedicated to helping others and often became personally invested in the lives of those he met. Over many years he quietly helped so many in any way that he could.

The world often saw a serious facade. However, Paul's heart was filled with love and humor. His quick sarcasm and wit could bring others to tears of laughter. He especially had a way with children. If Paul saw a small child, he often stopped to make a funny face or find a way to make them laugh.

Being a grandfather was his calling. He was never more joyful or at peace then on a beach trip with his three grandchildren. He was their cartoon watching partner, shopping cart race car driver, and championship tickler. In the eyes of his grandchildren, "Grampy" was the ultimate playmate.

He will be missed eternally by his daughter, Kimberly Custance, three grandchildren, Emerson, Violet and Walker, and his three brothers, David Bovaird (Kathleen), Mark Bovaird (Jan), and Steven (Lisa).

Visitation will be held 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA.

Son of John Alexander Bovaird.
