His brother John Byrd 1801-1885 Wolfe Ky. had 2 sons ( Samuel Patton Byrd 1838-1926) and( Andrew Campbell Byrd 1841-1935) Both brothers Joined the Confederate Army Oct 21, 1861 in West Liberty Ky(Morgan Co. Ky.) They joined the 5th KY. Inf Co. A. Their Uncle Anderson Byrd Joined with his 2 nephews the same place and date. But He was in 5th Ky. Inf Co. B. They were all in Morgan Co. Ky.
Anderson was captured by the Union Army in 1862 and sent to Alton Military Prison in Alton Il. While he was there he did escaped from the prison and was captured again and sent back to Alton Prison sadly he did not leave the prison again till the war was over in 1865. FLIM #377 ROLL 2. At this time he returned home to Wolfe Co.Ky where his family lived and died an old man.
