S. citizenship in 1851. A ship's carpenter or Shipwright, he worked in the ship yards at East Boston, but by 1880 was listed as a Saloon Keeper. Fraternally he was a member of the Mt. Tabor Masonic Lodge in East Boston, having been initiated in 1855.
