Funeral services were held Wed afternoon, March 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Adair, conducted by Rev. Wilton Sinning. Shirley Moore was the organist and Mrs. Alwin Zimmerline Jr. was the soloist.
Pallbearers were: Neil Aupperle, Lowell Aupperle, Joe Zimmerline, Max Lovell, Dwight Emmons and Robert Lovell. Interment was in Sunnyhill Cemetery.
Anna Rosena Lovell was born Dec 14, 1886 in Audubon Co near Exira, a daughter of William and Lena Peters Aupperle.
She attended rural Audubon County schools, graduating from the eight grade. Following her schooling she worked in the hotel in Adair.
She was married Aug 25, 1909 to Vernon A. Lovell at a farm south of Adair. The couple farmed south of Adair until 1945, when they retired to Adair.
She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Westminster Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Willing Workers Club.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Lovell of Adair; one daughter Mrs. Roscoe [Ruby] Perry of Ethel, WA; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 grt grt grandchildren; 3 brothers,
Ralph of Council Bluffs; Edward of Los Angeles, CA; and Clarence Aupperle of Burbanck, CA; 2 sisters, Lillian Waterson of Corona, CA and Hilda McCarty of Whittier, CA; nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon in Sept 1969; one son Wayne LeRoy in his first year; one brother, Roy Aupperle; and 3 sisters, May Aupperle, Emma Swinehart and Hulda in infancy.
About Sena her youngest sister Hilda wrote: "Sena--very good cook--prepared large meals--had player piano--her home was headquarters on trips back to Iowa."
