Conductor. Vincent La Selva was a world- renowned symphony and opera conductor and founder and artistic director of the New York Grand Opera. He was knighted by the president of Italy and awarded the coveted Handel Medallion by the mayor of New York City. He was well known for presenting all 28 of Verdi's operas in chronological order, ending on the 100th anniversary of Verdi's death. A feat many claimed was impossible. His music is still played on the major classical station in NYC, WQXR.
