Norma Rae (Blackman) Hollis, 77, lost her long battle with Alzheimer's disease on January 26, 2003. She was born October 7, 1925 to parents Dail M. and Alfhild (Anderson) Blackman in Houston, Texas.
She graduated from Milby High School. She retired from the Texas Employment Commission in 1992 after 16 years of service. She volunteered for many organizations including her children's schools, Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital and St. Martin's Lutheran Church.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ruth (Blackman) Gholson.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, 2 brothers, along with numerous other loving family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care she received at Barton House.
