Vera R. Liermann, age 93, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Vera was born on April 11, 1928 in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Seigfried and Elsie Kolb Haupt. She was baptized April 29, 1928 and confirmed May 25, 1941 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church at Newtonburg. Her memorial verse was taken from 2nd Corinthians Chapter 9, Verse 6: He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. On May 16, 1945 she married Helmuth "Bud" Liermann at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Liberty by Pastor E.C. Schroeder. He preceded her in death in July 1999. Vera managed the Liberty Telephone Exchange for six years and then became employed with the Valders School System for ten years. After moving to Manitowoc in 1976 she was employed for ten years at the Manitowoc Company as Production Clerk. Vera was very active in local church choirs and the Lakeshore Lutheran Chorale and was the Past President of the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Ladies Aid and the Grace Lutheran Circle. In 1987 she and Bud moved to Conway, Arkansas where she was President of the Conway Newcomers Club and a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church at Little Rock, AK. Vera and her husband retired to Hot Springs Village, AK in 1990 and were founding members of Living Water Lutheran Church. She was again very active in local organization, namely Past Chairman of P.O.A. Social and Cultural Committee and a member of the Crystal Chimes Barbershop Chorus. Vera also produced and directed several variety shows for the P.O.A. In 2002 Vera returned to Manitowoc where she again became a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, the Praise Choir, Festival Choir, Banner Committee, New Member Welcome Committee, Ladies Circle and Food for Funeral coordinator.

She is survived by two sons, Don (Laura) Liermann and Robert (Alicia) Liermann; nine grandchildren, Kathleen, Patricia, Theresa, Nicholas, Courtney, Jenna Lea, Anna, Christopher, and Timothy; seven great grandchildren, Ava, Sydney, Harper, Madeline, Emilia, Abigail, and Preston; numerous nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Vera's sons will be forever grateful for her special loving companion Raymond Lippert and to Raymond's family, Dennis Lippert and family Tim, Becky, and Brenda with their families, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Lorraine Liermann, Manitowoc and their families, and all the Liermann families for their help over the years since Vera returned to Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by her parents, Seigfried and Elsie Haupt, husband, H. Bud Liermann, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Darrell Sanger, Ethel and Verlin Rusch, and one brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Marion Haupt.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Pankow. Relatives and friends may call at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. The family requests that wearing face masks and social distancing will be required. The funeral service will be streamed live and can be viewed by clicking the "Live Stream Video" link on www.gracelutheran-church.com at the time of the memorial service.
