Funeral Services for Alfred Bliss, 67, formerly of Freedom will be held in the Freedom School auditorium on Saturday, August 2 at 10 a.m. Interment will be the Freedom Cemetery.

Alfred Bliss, son of Isa Dora and Roy Bliss was born July 16, 1913 at Lookout Okla. He died following a long illness at the Alva Share Medical Center on July 30, at the age of 67 years and 14 days.

He attended the Lookout Rural School and graduated from the Wichita Business College in 1939.

On May 17, 1941 at Woodward, Okla., he was married to Laura Beagley. To their marriage four children were born.

Following their marriage they lived in the Lookout area where they farmed and ranched. On April 1, 1980 because of ill health he retired and moved to Alva.

He was a member of the Lookout Union Church, the Woods County Cattlemans Assn., a Charter member of the Freedom Museum, the A.S.C. Committee, the Freedom Soil Conservation Board, the Farmers Home Administration, past president of the Freedom Co-op and was secretary when the Rural Water District No 2 was built.

Mr. Bliss was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leo

Alfred is survived by his wife Laura of the home; three daughters Janice (Weldon) Wade of Velma, Okla., Sandra (Billy) Wimmer of Alva and Staci Bliss of the home in Alva; his son Wayne of Los Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, Wynn Wade, Spencer Brandt, Bridget and Justin Bliss; three brothers Vernon of Freedom, Okla.; Jesse and Lester of Bakerfield, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Grace Beagley of Buffalo, Okla.; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
